Bio

Jenna Lawrence is a young Canadian singer songwriter whose main focus is mental health. It was when Jenna started to struggle with her own mental health that she grew to understand the immense therapeutic benefits of music. Songwriting is how she expresses emotions that can't be put plainly into words. Furthermore, Jenna's willingness to be vulnerable in front of an audience allows for a special connection between Jenna and her audience. The way in which Jenna writes her songs allows for personal interpretation of the lyrics. While struggling with mental health can feel really lonely and isolating, Jenna hopes that her music will help people to feel less alone and bring everybody together. Jenna hopes that in addition to helping people who are struggling with their own mental health, that her music can help to spread awareness about mental health and help to educate others.

Stemming from the emotional nature of her music, Jenna highly values fan engagement and interaction. Initiating live streams, responding to comments, and taking song requests for covers on social media are just a few ways that Jenna does her best to always remain engaged with her audience.

Jenna has honed her musical skills through years of music lessons and training. She later attended Seneca's Independent Songwriting and Performance Program where she was taught by highly regarded professionals including Micah Barnes, Falconer Abraham, Murray Foster, and many other incredibly talented industry professionals. Jenna has continued to work with Micah Barnes since graduating the Seneca program in 2022.

You Might Not
Want to Hear
This.

You Might Not Want to Hear This is a song that honestly addresses the thoughts that people often deal with when struggling with an eating disorder. It takes the listener on a journey from the happy little girl to the girl who has faced trauma in situations where she was promised help. This song is meant to raise awareness for the importance of progressing eating disorder treatment and to help people with similar experiences feel less alone in their own struggles.
